I saw this ad, right? For the Forum Low in white/core black – classic. And it says “Gratisversand für Bestellungen im Wert von über 29,90 € 125 Jahre DFB – .” What the heck is that, some kinda German thing? Makes me wonder if the site is even legit, ya know? Plus, free shipping is always kinda sus, isn’t it? (Okay, maybe not ALWAYS, but still…)
Then I saw another thing, this article saying something about “Adidas Forum Low : avis d’expert, test —-Le retour de la Adidas Forum Low, redorée par plusieurs mannequins Danoises…” More French stuff! And Danish models! What does *that* have to do with avoiding fakes? I’m so confused. Are they trying to distract me with pretty pictures? Probably. Marketing, am I right?
Anyway, the main thing is – how DO you spot a fake Forum Low? I mean, stitching is usually a big one. If it’s wonky or uneven, red flag city! Also, the leather quality. Real ones feel nice and supple, the fakes are usually plasticky and cheap. Oh, and the price! If it’s too good to be true, it probably IS. Like, if you see Forum Lows going for 30 bucks, run. Just run.
I think the sole is also a good indicator. Feel the texture, look at the way it’s glued (or not glued!) together. Sometimes the fake soles are made of some weird, bouncy material that feels all wrong. It’s kinda hard to explain, you just gotta feel it, ya know?
It’s honestly such a headache. I mean, I just want a decent pair of Forum Lows to rock with my jeans. Is that too much to ask? Maybe I should just stick to buying them from the Adidas store directly, even if it costs a bit more. At least then I KNOW they’re legit and not some, like, sweatshop special that’s gonna fall apart the second I step outside. Plus the Adidas store is, like, generally trustworthy, though who knows these days.
