From what I’ve gathered, Paris is usually the cheapest place to snag your LV fix. I saw this thing saying that back in 2015, someone did the math comparing US prices to Paris prices, using some euro-dollar exchange rate. I mean, 2015? That feels like a lifetime ago in exchange rate years, LOL. But the general gist is probably still true.
Then, I found another thing mentioning London vs. Paris. Apparently, a Speedy 30 was like, $40 cheaper in Paris. $40! That’s, like, a fancy coffee and a croissant…almost. Okay, maybe just a croissant. But still!
Now, here’s where things get a little…fuzzy. Exchange rates are, like, constantly fluctuating. One day the euro might be, you know, almost equal to the dollar, and the next it’s doing the limbo. And honestly, who has time to be checking that every five minutes? Plus, VAT refunds! You gotta factor those in too! You can get some of your money back when you leave the country (if you’re not a resident), which makes things cheaper…but it also involves paperwork. Ugh. Nobody likes paperwork.
Here’s my personal take: if you’re already *going* to Europe, then yes, absolutely check out the Louis Vuitton store. It’s kind of a fun experience anyway, especially in Paris. Plus, bragging rights! But I wouldn’t book a whole trip just to save a few bucks on a handbag. Unless, you know, you’re *really* into handbags. No judgement here!
Also, don’t forget to factor in your own sanity. Trying to figure out all the exchange rates and VAT refunds and stuff can drive you bonkers. Maybe just buy the darn bag and enjoy your vacation, ya know? Who needs the stress?
