First off, you gotta acknowledge the sheer *variety* they throw at you. Seriously, from their website (which, BTW, keeps asking if I want to switch to Versace India, lol, no thanks!), you’ve got everything: perfumes, colognes, shower gels, aftershave balms… it’s a whole olfactory buffet, basically. Dylan Blue, Eros, Atelier Versace… it’s like they’re naming Greek gods, which, knowing Versace, is probably intentional.
And then there’s the “Versense” thing. Okay, so I saw this description about it being inspired by the “awakening of nature” and evoking a sense of freedom. Like, I’m not sure what “awakening of nature” *smells* like exactly, but I’m picturing less “fresh dew on a daisy” and more “expensive Italian garden where someone’s strategically placed citrus trees for aesthetic purposes.” You know?
Macy’s is in the mix too, of course. They’re always selling gift sets. I gotta admit, those sets *are* kinda tempting, especially around the holidays. Like, who wouldn’t want a whole collection of Versace-ness? Though, sometimes those sets feel a bit… padded? Like they throw in a mini lotion you’ll probably never use just to make the box look fuller. Just my two cents.
Now, personal opinion time: I think Versace colognes, especially, can be a *tad* overpowering. Like, you gotta be careful not to overspray, otherwise you’ll knock people out with your sheer fabulousness. But, you know, sometimes that’s the point? It really depends on the mood, I guess. I feel like that “Eros” is one of the best though.
Douglas is selling Versace Versense as well, which is apparently a “Parfum” (fancy!). They’ve got the whole “free shipping over €39.95” thing going on. I’m always a sucker for free shipping, honestly. Also, “free samples”? Yes, please! I’m like a moth to a flame when it comes to free beauty stuff.
